Landscapes of the Human Condition
Sculpture
Facade, 2024
- Abstract and conceptual compositions inspired by human experiences that explore themes of technology, individuality, community, and connection. A baseline concept for each piece is basing the compositions on a grid of 1024 cubes, in refernece to bytes of data, symbolizing our dependency on technology.
The gaps between the cubes represent individuals or communities. The varying heights signify differences in belief systems or impact from external influences. The white-painted layers on the cubes capture surface-level perceptions of people or situations, whereas the black sides reveal the scale of misunderstanding or subconscious untruths.
Painted wooden lines on the cubes connect individuals and groups through space and time, transcending social differences.
The frameless compositions suggest the boundless potential for human connection and change. Each piece invites contemplation of shared human experiences and emotions, sparking conversations about empathy, self-reflection, and the beliefs and perceptions that unite and divide us.
